The kids were excited to see some animals and go to the petting zoo. When we got there we unbuckled the kids so they could sit higher and see the animals and gave them each a bucket of feed to throw out their windows at the animals we were passing.
Our expedition started out slow. We drove around the pond and threw a few pellets out to the emus that were coming towards the car. Nothing to crazy. And then this happened...
Katie was feeding a lama and then.....
I think Katie's face explains it all!! (I can't stop laughing just looking at this picture)
Then came this guy...
As he stuck his head into the car the first time Katie yelled, "Demon LLAMA!" Of course she was referencing the movie she had just watched but it was perfect. This crazy llama decided to walk past the rest of the llamas and follow our car. We would be looking at another animal and then I would turn my head and he would be right out my window. This would then cause me to jump and scream and toss my feed bucket. Pellets went everywhere.
Katie then asked if we could put her window up. She didn't want anymore in lap visitors. She was the smart one. After thinking we lost this crazy critter Rick drove on and when we finally felt safe he unrolled our windows once again. BAD IDEA! I looked down at the camera only to have this demon llama come out of nowhere and stick it's head in my lap trying to eat my food bucket. AHH. Once again the whole bucket was tossed and I screamed. At this point Rick was laughing uncontrollably!
We were wise enough to avoid direct contact the rest of the trip. Rick would simply throw the food through the sunroof, much safer!! I'm pretty sure the Zebras would have come in the car too if we would have let them.

So the turtles felt like getting "busy" while my children were watching. Katie of course had to ask, "Mommy why is that turtle making that noise?" I was laughing too hard to answer.
This a six week old baby camel.
Brady kept saying, "grampa turkey"
The rooster crowed right next to Brady, who simply turned around and went,
"cock-a-doodle-do," right back to it.
oh this is the baby camel trying to eat Brady's hair.
The worker dug through the straw and pulled out a prickly hedgehog just for my kids to see.
I still smile thinking about all the laughter we had at this place!
It was one heck of a family outing.
