Family Fun

We have had a few more family members visit us here in San Bernardino. We really didn’t have that many visitors in Tennessee. It is an added plus to moving west. My aunt Diane brought my Grandpa Engle to visit on their way to a fishing trip and at the end of September my cousin Randle brought his family to visit. His wife Melissa is an amazing mommy of Jesse and their twin girls Cami & Tess. The best part was they brought my sister with them. My kids were so excited to have Aunt Amy visit. The last time our 2 families were together was at the girls baby blessings. Trevor is 2 weeks younger than the girls so it was fun to watch everyone play together. I just hope they know they are welcome back anytime.

Later in the week we took them to one of our favorite beaches. We had a great time teaching Jesse how to body board. He says the funniest things.

After the beach we went to dinner and the parking lot had these crazy yellow lights. The picture is of Katie’s pants under white light showing the colors in her pj’s and then under the yellow lights everything washes out. It was crazy.

Swimming at Janet’s

One of the perks of moving to California is having family so close. It is an added bonus that Randy and Janet have a pool and cousins across the street. Brady begs weekly to go to Janet’s and go swimming.  My kids have never had swimming lessons but Brady is a natural. He loves the water. I feel very blessed to live so near to family. It is so fun to have the kids play with their cousins. Katie loves Riley to pieces. She really looks up to her and wants to be like her when she is older.

Homework

Katie’s Kindergarten class has weekly homework classes. Katie usually zooms through her packet but she is so funny when she focuses. She has a crazy habit of putting her leg on the table when she thinks. It doesn’t matter which table she is at she does it when she is concentrating. She loves her new teacher Mrs Rivera and had fun with a crazy hair day. I really like her school. She goes to an arts and music magnet. They encourage music and art everyday in class. I’m glad she found a place to be happy.

 

Ride the Trains

A park near our house in Riverside had mini steam engines that run every 2nd and 4th sunday. We took the kids after church one week and they loved it. You get to cruise around the park and then play on the playground when you are all done. I recommend it to everyone.
