when grandma comes to town….

 

Having my mom in town has been such a blessing. She has played with Katie all month and probably needs a vacation away from us now. Katie sure keeps her on her toes. Grandma introduced Katie to the iPad and the movie How to train your dragon.

They played with play dough and laughed and giggled a lot.

 

 

 

They even made some thanksgiving cards. Katie picked the leaves.

Katie even got the chance to do a science project with mom while grandma played with Brady.

I’m so grateful to be blessed with a mom who is kind, patient, and whose schedule can allow her to take off work for a month to come play with us. My mom is amazing!

Boys will be Boys!

Rick’s intramural football team won the championship undefeated. This means that in 2 years of playing they have only lost one game. The one game my hubby didn’t QB! Way to go Bearsharktipi on such a great season!

During the first weekend of the month Rick was invited to the first true “Guys Night.” It was the first time in a year and a half that they went strictly as guys to do MANLY things without their families. I was glad Rick was getting out to bond with the other guys in the ward, and what was more manly than lots of food. The guys went to Hot Rod’s dinner in Knoxville TN. (I stole the pictures from my friend Jen.)

They ordered Hot Rod's eating challenge burger. It comes with 6 slices of cheese and 30 ounces of meat, toppings and a side of 1 pound of fries.

The challenge is to eat the burger and fries in less then 45 mins. This gets you your picture on the wall.

Even though Rick claims that he had more fries than anyone else he was able to finish within the time frame and can claim that he is victorious.

Unfortunately he didn’t finish within 30 mins. If he had he would have also gotten this really cool T-shirt.

The burger is named “The Chubby.” Rick did say that the burger was actually really tasty and would be great if you weren’t in such a rush to eat it. Maybe we can go and split it next time.

Fall-ing behind

 

I know I haven’t blogged in a little while. It is all because my mom is in town for the month and I’m having too much fun with her to play on the computer. I am so lucky to have her come! She has kept me sane, rested, and is even attempting potty training my 2 yr old. What a great mom!!!

 

Here are some pictures of us at the park.  While there we saw a really cool bug on the garbage can. Check out the spikes on its back.      

 

My sister-in-law sent me the cutest layetes for Brady! They are made from guys t-shirts. I think that they look more boyish! Thanks Sarah!
