Finally

Last Friday Katie woke up with a new tooth. That is right, she finally cut a tooth. It is located on the bottom right side of her mouth and is of course extremely sharp. She has been fussy since and I think she might be getting the bottom left tooth soon. I'm so excited that she will be able to finally chew her food instead of just gnawing on it. Happy Mother's Day

I have had an interesting first Mother's Day.

I guess I should explain. We have started the moving process and wanted to De-junk the house. I decided to do a Yard Sale. It was great, members of my family cleaned out their houses and donated to the cause. We did alright we made over $200 selling crap for a buck.
The catch comes with the fact we were out in the sun for 6 hours. It was breezy and so the sun felt nice. Katie went with my mom for the day (thank goodness) and so I was not overly concerned with sunscreen. Rick offered it to me but never handed me the bottle. Needless to say I got a nasty sunburn. In fact, Rick said that he has never seen me this red before.
Aloe, Lanicane, sunburn Lotion, a cold shower, Ice packs, wet washcloths and 24 hours later this is what I look like.

Ouch Right. Oh well. I do live on a farm!

Bonus for the day Rick gave me a beautiful bracelet and necklace. You can barely see the bracelet in the picture above and I can't wear the necklace because it rubs my sunburn. It was fun to see people's reaction at church. Most people just went wide eyed and asked if I'd seen the sun.

So you see I'm in some pain (not to much don't worry just enough to be annoying) Katie is fussy and refusing to take a nap and my house is torn apart because we were in a rush sorting and getting things out for the yard sale. Yeah for motherhood!

Graduations!!!

In the last little bit both my brother Lee and Rick's brother Steve graduated with their Bachelor Degrees. While Rick was busy with Army stuff I was able to attend my brother's graduation ceremony Friday Morning. This was a little trying for me because it started at 8am. My daughter usually does not wake up until about that time. Due to the fact President Monson was speaking at the commencement we needed to be there extra early. I woke Katie up at 6am in order to get ready and in our seats in time. She did not like this. She scowled at me while I was getting her dressed and kept rolling her head to the side and closing her eyes. She fell asleep half way through the convocation and woke up to everyone yelling congrats at the end. After making a quick exit we picked up the rest of the family (Which included Sarah, Josh, my mom, and grandma) and traveled to Cedar City.

Side note: It was great to spend some time with Sarah while she was visiting her family. Chad was of course out doing military things, but we were able to take a hike with their family to the top of the "Y." This was something none of us had ever done so it was hard but a lot of fun. Josh is getting so big and he was just so concerened with Katie he was really cute! With moving, I'm grateful that we were able to do things because in the future visits might be few and far between!

Once in Cedar I was able to spend some time with Rick's extended family that we only see about once a year. (His dad Kevin, Grandma Jones, Chrissy, Denise, Grandma and Grandpa Hale and of course Steve.) It was nice. I made Money Lei's for the boys as graduation presents. It was fun and pretty easy once I knew what I was doing. I even got to take Katie swimming and try out my new swim suit. The point of my family going was to help my sister pack up her apartment. We were able to fit all of her belonging into the back of my grandma's truck and Amy's car.

On the drive home we were making great time and just south of Santaquin about 20 mins from home I was driving when the right front tire on the truck blew a hole through the rubber and steel about the size of a nickle. I was able to make it to the side of the road without an accident. Amy on the other hand was stuck with mean people who didn't want her to get over and it took a little more work for her to make it to the side of the road. Within minutes my Dad and Grandpa were on the way to rescue the poor stranded women. Rick all the while was at home oblivious that we were in need. I didn't tell him until after we made it back to my parents. The tire was fixed and now we were spread between 4 vehicles it was hilarious. I must add that the truck was packed so well that nothing moved, even with a flat tire.
