The Rodeo
Rick and I attended the rodeo last night. Sorry no pics, I forgot the camera and Rick's phone was almost dead and wouldn't take any pictures. We had a lot of fun. If you have never attended a rodeo you should! There is nothing like watching something where the participants can be sent to the hospital at any minute. I have to say that I am particularly fond of the mutton bust'n competition. For anyone that doesn't know that is where a child is placed on the back of a sheep and told to hold on as long as posible as the sheep runs across the arena. It is like a minuture version of bareback riding that is less dangerous. Last night's winner actually rode that sheep like a steer, rope in one hand and the other hand behind his head. It was so cute. Just so you all know I won the mutton bust'n competition back in the good old days of Lake Shore rodeo, and yes I do plan on having my little girl compete in the same event when she is big enough. I'm a simple country gal what can I say.
Baby Shower
On July 12Th my dear cuz Shess threw me a baby shower for my dad's side of the family. It was so much fun. I'm not really into the weird party games, so instead she had a Tea Party. It was so cute. She really put a lot of effort into making it perfect. I had so much fun I just wanted to thank her for all of her hard work. Plus I would like to publicly thank everyone that came for the wonderful gifts and laughter that was shared. It meant so much to me to have you all there.

Catching Up
Like I said in the beginning I am horrible at blogging and you will be lucky to get a post once a month. Such is the case today. Except you have lots to read and watch trying to catch up. I'm going to call it a night because it is late and we have church early in the morning. The sad thing is I still have more to write about. Such is life. It never ends!
4th of July
I felt bad for Rick this year, my family doesn't really celebrate the 4Th of July. Our big summer holiday is Fiesta Days in Spanish Fork on the 24Th of July. So he didn't get his traditional 4Th he was expecting. It all started with Balloons on the 3rd of July. We got up really early and watched the hot air balloons launch in Provo which being a day early just seemed a little off especially when pigs really do fly. After that we headed up to work on my grandparents cabin next to Scofield Reservoir. Where Rick helped hang sheet rock for 2 days. We didn't get to see a parade or even fireworks. I think he was really disappointed. Oops guess I'll have to fix that next year.
Family party
My grandparents have a perfect field behind their house for paintball. So we had a family BBQ just to shoot each other. There is nothing like burying the hatchet with small balls of paint. It keeps my family saine and close. We may be slightly redneckish, but we have a lot of fun!
Summer AT
Rick spent 2 weeks in Dugway this year for AT. Pretty much it was really hot and sandy. Although somehow he was able to fit in a round of golf.
Girls just like to have fun
While Rick was gone for Annual Training with the guard, I went to Saint George to play with the girls. It was realy fun. I got to spend time with my mom, grandma, my cuz Kaisha, and her friend Tori. We played at the pool, did alot of shopping of course, saw the sites (including Brigham Young's winter house), spend some time at the spa/salon (I got a mani and pedi), and even go to go visit my great uncle Dee who I love to dealth. We laughed alot especially when Tori got a brain freeze during dinner one night. I would recomend a girls week to anyone.

Living in a small town you never know what you might see when you drive down the road. The other day Rick and I were cruising along when we saw this....
Yes you are truly seeing a boat in a field. Someone hit the corner bridge a little too fast and didn't have the boat secured properly and it flew off the trailer and into the field. It is just proof that waves of water are a little better suited than waves of grain. The farmer did move the boat with the tractor inorder to harvest the field but the boat still sits there.

50th birthday
My dad turned 50 back in June and I am just barely writing about it. My mom asked for some help with his party at the end of Feb first of May. After months of planning and a family feud my Dad had the best Hillbilly birthday you could imagine. I had all the guest dress up like rednecks and bring gift according to the theme. The funny thing was he wasn't going to show up to the party. My mom finally convinced him that they would just stop by the "family BBQ" for a minute and then they could leave. So when he finally came, even though they were 1/2 hour late, he was really surprised to find out it was a birthday party for him. You see it was 2 days after his actual birthday. We had a great time. My uncle made a movie for my dad. It had all of his siblings telling stories about him growing up. He even did a spotlight with each of us kids and my mom. I started crying when I saw a tear roll down my dad's face. I love him so much and he works so hard and would do anything for anyone else. It was nice to finally do something for him.
