Update on the garden

Rick wanted me to update you on how well the garden is doing. Let me add that my grandfather is amazing. He is the kindest man. Not only did he plant the garden with help from Rick, but comes over to help weed and spray the garden. We have eaten some really great produce this year too. The garden has provided us with corn, onions, red and green chard, zucchini, lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, bell peppers, yellow peppers, beets, cucumbers, squash, and even a few cherry tomatoes already. It has been more work trying to keep up with the eating. I guess you have to have a great garden though if your house is surrounded by fields of corn.

The Parade

During Fiesta Days Spanish Fork does a parade every year. It is unlike any parade. This year Rick and I had a great time. He actually had the day off! The first thing to catch Rick's eye was a pink tractor. Yes we show off farm equipment during the parade. Next he was all excited because the Wells Fargo stagecoach came rolling down the street just like in the commercials. I was more impressed by the Model T float and the giant piggy bank. This was taking place in UT where no parade would be complete without the missionaries. They got to walk the entire parade route, Book of Mormons in hand, and cheers from the crowd. It is just a little different. Rick was enjoying the free candy though! Check out the pics. It was nice to have Rick around he has usually been gone for the event. The last time we attended was when we were dating.
